Yes! It’s a New Year!! Beginning of a new decade and you surely want to build muscles, look fit and healthy, cut that fat from your love handles, and everyone’s favorite- get six pack abs. Making a resolution is, without a shadow of doubt, one of the easiest things to do. But, when it comes to sticking with the resolution and pushing yourself to the gym every day, it’s challenging for almost every dreamer who wishes to build physique like celebrities. No, really don’t mean you can’t do it, I’m just shedding light on the issues people face while continuing with their resolution and what needs to be done to make it possible in the next 365 days.

So, if you are among those who find themselves back home forgetting the resolution and coming back to the normal routine in a week or so, you have come to the right place.

It all starts with a “WHY”? To get started or to quit, you need to have a reason. There goes a saying in the gym- “BEAST MODE ON”! This beast mode you can turn ON only when you can GET UP right after your turn the alarm OFF! Yes, I’m saying this because I’ve been there and done that, turning the alarm of and going back to sleep, later regretting that I missed the gym today and I’m sure it’s familiar to many of you.

This is where having a reason can make things easy. You want to participate in the bodybuilding competition? You simply want to look fit? You want to impress a girl or your girlfriend? Be it, you need a reason first if you want to hit the gym and score some muscles.

The only thing that can stop you from achieving your fitness goal (or any goal) is you. No, actually there are two things, you and your excuses. You are sure to feel lazy when you wake up, you will surely be tired as you had a busy and hectic day at work, headache, cramps, muscle pain and everything in between are just a few of those many excuses that will keep you at home when you should have been at the gym, sound familiar yet again no?

Yeah, this one’s my favorite. I remember my first day at gym, I was feeling like HULK who can lift all those dumbbells and plates all alone and there is no one in the gym who will look better than me in the next couple of months. After coming back home (after a 45 minute workout) standing in front of the mirror, I was trying the notice the changes, which muscles I’ve gained today! After an hour when I lost the pump, Ah, it’s all the same, heartbroken me.

It takes time, sometimes longer than you can expect, so take it easy and stay focused.

Ask any well built person how long it took to achieve what they have achieved, time will always be there. Hence, you need to make sure that you set realistic goals and never get disappointed if you don’t see results for few days or even weeks. There are people who quit only because they didn’t notice any change for a while, but quitting is sure to not to make any change. You need to work smartly with your workout routine and your diet if you are hoping to achieve your goals and working in the right directions to make things work in your favor.

Same workout and same diet can prove to be boring at times, especially when you are doing the same for long. You have multiple muscles to focus on and build and this is the beauty of building physique, you can feel free to mix things up when you feel the need to have some change. If your workout routine has been monotonous, try skipping, yoga or any other exercise you have never tried before.
